A.Q. Kids
Being committed to all aspects of fitness, Aquarobics
has designed an innovative youth program known as A.Q. Kids. The
program consists of a six-minute muscular warm up, twenty plus minutes
of aerobic work and ends with fifteen minutes of muscle conditioning.
Correlating fitness and academics, the students begin each fitness
class with a classroom discussion on "the heart," "blood
circulation," "strong muscles---why do we need them?"
and ends with the "muscle of the day." The students then
put their knowledge to the physical test in the water. We found
this to be an extremely safe form of exercise for growing children.
Improvements included: coordination, ability to focus, weight reduction,
improved muscular/skeletal strength and boost to self-confidence
and body image.
