Why Water?
Water is POWER. The water's natural properties of buoyancy and resistance provide a workout that fit every stage of fitness.
The Buoyancy Factor
In the water we only weigh 15% of our body weight due to the water's buoyancy factor. This makes it the perfect place to exercise for the beginner or for someone who needs the support of the water to lessen the impact on joints. It allows a freedom of movement and let's you perform exercises that are nearly impossible with gravity.
Buoyancy also provides us with automatic abdominal work. Without even thinking about it you are tightening your core muscles to hold your place in the pool. If you didn't, you would float around. 60 minutes of abs! You know we love that!
Water Resistance
The water provides a natural strength training workout with 12x the resistance of air. This means that during your 60-minute workout you are not only getting an incredible cardio workout, but also 60-minutes of "weight training". Make sure you are completing your exercises at Full Range of Motion to get the most muscle benefit. It is easy to think that short, faster movements will keep your pulse up, but in reality the long moves, pushing the water, will not only keep you in the cardio zone, but create long, lean, strong muscles and improve flexibility. The more muscle mass you have, the better your metabolism. You will burn more calories while you sleep. One pound of muscle burns 3x the amount of calories as a pound of fat.
Water = power = health = longevity.
The buoyancy of water allows for great freedom of movement.
